Questions
Common questions about Quotanto: shipping, expiry, spam, captcha, data and uninstalling.
Quotes
- Can I add shipping or a fee to a quote?
- Yes. Add a shipping line or a fee to the order before sending. The customer is charged exactly that. Without a shipping line, your normal rates apply.
- How long is a quote valid?
- 14 days by default. Change it under WooCommerce, Settings, Quotes.
- What happens when a quote expires?
- Its status becomes “Quote expired” and the link stops working. You can send it again.
- Can the customer change the quantity?
- No. Quantities are locked once a quote is accepted. Send a new quote to change them.
Products
- Which products can be quoted?
- Simple and variable products.
- Can I sell a product by quote only?
- Yes. Set Add to cart to “Replace with the quote button”.
- Can customers ask for several products at once?
- Yes. Switch on “Quote for the whole cart”.
Your store
- Does it work with block checkout?
- Yes, and with classic checkout and High-Performance Order Storage.
- Do quotes count as sales?
- No. Quotes are left out of WooCommerce Analytics. The paid order counts.
- How is spam handled?
- A signed timestamp, a honeypot and a rate limit, with no outside service.
- Can I add a captcha?
- Yes, from the captcha plugin you already use: Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha, Friendly Captcha or reCAPTCHA. Tick Captcha in the settings.
- Does it send data anywhere?
- No. Quotanto contacts no external service. A captcha plugin you switch on contacts its own.
- Is it translation ready?
- Yes. It also ships configuration for WPML and Polylang.
